Review:

Epigirl is finally here!

by spryng

I have always been a big fan of Epilady. The thought of removing unwanted hair and having smooth, silky legs has always fasinated me. So how overjoyed I was to discover the newest member to the Epilday family, The epigirl. Small, compact, and attractive to look at I couldn't wait to order my very own.

Now, I have never actually owned anything from Epilady so this is my first. I ordered it online from Goodman's and 4 days later I was holing the smooth contraption in my palm. I was so excited.

I read the instructions which said to wash your legs before using to remove any residue that might hinder the machine. So the next day I showered and sat in my living room dreaming about the old days when I would have had to shave every two days to stay smooth. Not any longer... I gracefully plugged it in and turned it on to it's first setting (it has two, high and low) and the hum of the machine was not too loud or bothersome. Then I languidly applied the head to my leg --- OUCH --- I'm not going to lie to you, it was very painful at first. I mean it is ripping each individual hair out by it's root. But the instructions said to hold your skin taut. So I did and it eased the pain. After about 5 minutes my legs got used to the feeling and it no longer felt painful to me. The first time takes a while. I think I might have plugged away at my right leg for 20 minutes or more before it was completely smooth. Then starting the other leg was painful once again until it too adjusted. So after about 40 minutes I turned off the little machine, cleaned the hair out of the head and placed it back into the little pouch that came with it. All done. Now I am hair free and carefree of nicks and stubble that accompanies normal razor shaving.

What are the pros and cons of this product? Pros - your legs stay smooth for weeks and shaving is a thing of the past.

Cons- it's a bit painful at first but as you use it more your legs become accustomed to it and it's no longer bothersome.

What do I love and hate about the Epigirl? I love everything about it! It's smaller than the regular Epilady. Fits nicely in the palm of your hand. It has a wider head to cover more leg at a time. It really was what I always wanted. What do I hate about it? The price wasn't as low as I would have liked, but I would say it was worth it. Other than that I don't hate anything about it.

I would recommend this product to women who want to not have to shave so often. Women with thick, course, hair would benefit from this because as the hair grows back in it is finer and softer. But if you have a low tolerance for pain then you might want to use a friends to make sure this is for you before you buy your own. Because like I said, it rips the hair out from it's root and that's painful. You could take a aspirin or tylenol before beginning to ease it some but mainly your legs will have to adapt as mine did. I think it is worth every ounce of pain.

I bought this product because the Epilady name has been around for a very long time and is trusted. Before I was married 4 years ago I used a friends epilady and loved that I was hairless for 3 entire weeks! I knew that someday I would own my own and now that Epigirl is here I couldn't wait any longer.

Would I purchase this again?? Hopefully the one I just purchased lasts me for a few years, but yes when it gets tired and worn I will replace it with a new Epigirl. I am hooked and will never pick up a common razor again.
So in closing I am proud to be an owner of the new Epigirl and recommend it to all that have been thinking about smooth legs that last for a while. Go get you one!!
